At the waterfront and yet close to the Citycenter!

The 'Onderneming' is a Luxe Motor ship type, built in Raamsdonksveer in 1923. Length 27m. Beam 5m.
Until the sixties, the ship transported freight: sand and grit, using her own gear.

Then she became a workship for a small constructioncompany.
During that period a deckhouse/workshop was built on the aft hold.
Subsequently the ship moved to Amsterdam and ended up as a houseboat in the IJ-harbour

Twenty years ago the present owner bought the 'Onderneming'.
A 135 hp DAF-engine was installed in the sailing houseboat in 1993.
Part of the power is supplied by 6 solar PV cells.
The forepart of the ship is set up as a guesthouse.
The ship is optimally insulated and fitted with central heating.
